The 2019 Blizzard Quattro RX Skis are the flagship model of Blizzard’s highly successful Quattro line. At 84 mm underfoot, the RX sits squarely in the middle of the front-side carver category. With a great system binding and a racecar-like personality, this is a great setup for advanced and expert skiers who spend a majority of their time pushing the speed limit on smooth terrain. The waist width and the slight tip and tail rocker add a bit of playfulness and versatility to these skis, but overall, they like to be on the groomers and going fast. The 16 meter turn radius at 174 cm length is on the short side, but due to the speedy nature of the RX, you’ll be glad to make a bunch of turns. The power, stability, and energy that you get in the Quattro RX are amazing. With IQ Suspension in front of and behind the binding system, there is virtually zero tip and tail chatter—the skis are silky smooth and powerful. When you load up the ski with energy during the turn, be prepared to harness and release that energy on the way out. You’ll feel a tremendous rebound when you release the tails and engage the tips into the next arc. When you are balanced and strong with the skis, they will respond in kind. While they’re much better suited to making the turn shape that the radius dictates due to their stiffness, stronger skiers can manipulate them to make shorter turns in more challenging terrain.
